TORII

The collection took its name from TORII, a traditional type of gate in Japanese culture. It represents a dimensional gate, bridging the ordinary world and the existence beyond. This dividing line appears on every bag as an allusion to the structure of the ‘torii’-s, conveying their abstract meaning. The observation of the harmonious proportion of the Japanese gates made a marked influence on the design process.
